Activities

   Students from classes 3 to 8 at The Dwarka School embarked on an enriching educational excursion to DLRC School, situated on Sus Road in Pune. Eighteen students participated in this invaluable experience, which proved both enlightening and engaging.

DLRC School, a distinguished K-12 institution, champions nature-based education, fostering holistic development that integrates the head, heart, and hand. During the visit, our students explored an impressive array of projects and exhibits crafted by their DLRC counterparts, showcasing innovative learning methodologies and creative expression.

The exhibition highlights included:

- A vibrant toy show

- Experimental models illustrating scientific concepts

- Diverse artistic creations, such as clay models and stunning paintings, displayed in the art gallery

This experience provided our students with an exceptional platform to observe the seamless integration of creativity, experimentation, and education, inspiring them to think beyond conventional classroom settings.

The visit to DLRC School served as a significant opportunity for our students to learn from innovative practices and appreciate the importance of hands-on, experiential education.

Oath Ceremony

On 21st October 2024, The Dwarka School conducted an "Oath Taking Ceremony." Students from grades I to IV, Cubs and Bulbuls, along with students from grades V to X who are Scouts and Guides, took the oath. The Principal, Mrs. Reshma Dhanavi, presented scarves to the participants, and sweets were distributed to everyone.

Grandparents Day

On September 3rd, we celebrated Grandparents Day. Our pre-primary students warmly welcomed their grandparents with a heartwarming dance performance, sang melodious songs, presented a fabulous fashion show, and showcased a skit that expressed their love and appreciation.

The grandparents were touched by the students' hard work and expressed their joy, respect, and cherished memories of their grandchildren.

Krishna Janmashtami

The Dwarka school came together in an enthusiastic celebration of Krishna Janmashtami on 27th August 2024.

Students from the Nursery to the 10th standard joyously participated in the traditional activity of breaking the dahi handi.

Their active involvement contributed to a lively and spirited celebration that truly captured the essence of the occasion.

Cyber Club Activity

Cyber Club students participated in an engaging Cyber Threats Poster Making Competition with students from grades 7 to 10, we had a fantastic turnout with 6 groups, each consisting of 6 talented members.

After a lot of creativity and hard work, Group 1 emerged victorious with the best poster! A huge round of applause to them and to all the participants for their impressive efforts.

Our coordinator was thrilled to present Group 1 with well-deserved certificates for their outstanding work.

Great job, everyone, and keep up the amazing work in raising awareness about cyber threats!

Singing Competition

The Dwarka School organized a house-wise singing competition on 9th August 2024. The competition was divided into four groups:-

Group 1 included students from classes 1 and 2, who performed songs on the theme "Title Songs of Famous Cartoon Series."

​

Group 2 included students from classes 3 and 4, who sang "90s Songs with Karaoke."

​

Group 3 included students from classes 5, 6, and 7, with their performances centered around the theme "Life" (Zindagi).

​

Group 4 included students from classes 8, 9, and 10, who showcased their talents through "Mix and Match" (Fusion of Two Languages).

Cyber Club Activity

 On August 3rd, our Class 10 Cyber Club members at Dwarka School presented an engaging skit on cybersecurity. The performance highlighted key issues like physical security threats, hacking, and identity theft. The students effectively showcased these challenges through relatable scenarios, emphasizing the importance of cybersecurity awareness. It was a valuable session that brought critical digital safety lessons to life.

Palkhi Celebration

The Dwarka School carried out a Palkhi procession which depicts the Maharashtrian culture and tradition.
The students of class IV chanted enthusiastically names of ‘Gynanba Tukaram, Gynanba Mauli’ and marched through the lanes of Shripati baba temple premises.
All the students were dressed in traditional attire. Some of the girls carried the holy Tulsi sapling on their heads. The students danced to the beats of the dhol and played fugadi in a ringan or the circular formation around the Palkhi. The on-lookers appreciated the students and cheered them.
The students enjoyed a lot replicating the wari-procession that heads to Pandharpur for the Ashadi Ekadashi and also gained information about this 1000-year-old tradition.

Visit to International Exhibition Convention Centre 

Students from classes 8 and 9 at The Dwarka School recently explored the Maharashtra MSME Defense Expo in Pune. Hosted by MSME and DRDO at the International Exhibition Convention Centre in Moshi, the visit provided a firsthand look at cutting-edge weapons, ammunition, tanks, and helicopters used by the Indian Defense Services.

The event proved particularly valuable for students with aspirations for a career in the defense services, offering insights into the latest innovations and capabilities of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

This educational excursion fostered a deeper understanding of the nation's defense technologies and inspired future leaders in the field.

At Dwarka School, teaching life skills is an integral part of the curriculum, instilling values like empathy and sharing in students.

Each year, the senior students from Std X undertake a heartwarming initiative by visiting two orphanages associated with the school. Through the proceeds of a savory sale, they purchased essentials like clothes, towels, bedsheets, and Diwali sweets. Class X-A students extended their kindness to the children at Nirmal Bal Vikas Sanstha near Khed, while Class X-B students shared their gifts with the children and ladies at Mai Bal Bhavan near Dehu Road.

These visits not only provide material support but also a sense of belonging and love. They also serve as a reminder to appreciate the comforts and blessings the students often take for granted, reinforcing the life skill that sharing is caring.

This heartfelt endeavor reflects the school's commitment to holistic education and nurturing responsible, compassionate citizens.

 Diwali Celebration

The Dwarka School joined in the country wide Diwali festivities with great fervor, spreading joy and cheer throughout the premises. The celebrations spanned over multiple days, filled with vibrant colors and creativity.

Starting on 2nd November, the students from Nursery to IV excitedly crafted beautiful diyas, adding their personal touch to the traditional Diwali decor. The same day, classes VI and VII showcased their artistic skills by making decorative lanterns, illuminating both their homes and the school.

On 3rd November, it was the turn of classes IX and X to showcase their creativity, as they crafted intricate greeting cards. These handmade expressions of love and warmth added an extra touch of personalization to the Diwali festivities.

Finally, on 4th November, students from classes V and VIII paid homage to the Maharashtrian tradition by constructing a mesmerizing replica of the Raigad fort. This display not only highlighted their artistic prowess but also emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage.

The Diwali celebrations at The Dwarka School were a true reflection of the joy and unity that this festival brings, leaving everyone with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Savory sale

The Dwarka school hosted its annual savory sale, treating students to a delectable array of dishes, including bhel, pani puri, Chinese cuisine, cupcakes, and cold drinks. The event featured food stalls operated by the school's four houses, adding an element of friendly competition.

What makes this event even more special is that the proceeds generated from the sale will be put to good use. The school plans to utilize the profits to purchase gifts for children in the two orphanages it supports.

This initiative not only brings joy to the school community but also extends a helping hand to those in need, exemplifying the spirit of compassion and community involvement.

Educational Journey To Indreshwar Nursery In Indori.

The young scholars of Dwarka School, from classes I and II, embarked on an educational journey to Indreshwar Nursery in Indori.

Their aim was to explore the enchanting world of plants and their various components.

With enthusiasm and curiosity, these budding botanists learned to distinguish between trees, shrubs, herbs, climbers, and creepers, cultivating a deeper understanding of the green wonders that surround us.

Hindi Day 

The celebration of Hindi Week, which commenced on 11th September and culminated on the auspicious Hindi Day on 14th September 2023, was a vibrant and enlightening tribute to our national language.

Throughout the week, our diverse student body engaged in a plethora of activities that showcased their love for Hindi. Senior classes exhibited their creativity through captivating poster making. Nursery to V classes recited enchanting Hindi poems, while classes 1 to X competed in transcribing Hindi passages, emphasizing the written aspect of our language.

Every day began with a school assembly conducted entirely in Hindi, reinforcing the linguistic unity of our nation. Students also took the pledge in Hindi.

The grand finale was a spectacle to behold. Class IX students orchestrated a dynamic assembly, complete with a compelling nukkad natak. The younger talents from classes 1 to III serenaded us with a melodious Hindi song, and classes IV to VI delivered a thought-provoking play on Hindi's significance. Finally, the rhythmic performance of classes VII and VIII to the tune of "Suraj ki baton mein" left everyone in awe.

This Hindi Week celebration not only fostered linguistic pride but also highlighted the integral role Hindi plays in our cultural mosaic. It was a heartwarming reminder of our shared linguistic identity.

Pune Climate Warrior Activity

In a remarkable Pune Climate Warrior activity organized by the school, students from grades 6, 7, and 8 displayed their environmental commitment. Armed with discarded cartons and a zeal for nurturing life, they transformed these cartons into mini-greenhouses. Filled with soil and sown with an array of seeds including wheat, barley, melon, chiku, and custard apple, these cartons found a new purpose.

With care and dedication, students watered and placed the cartons beside classroom windows to bask in the rejuvenating embrace of sunlight. As the days pass by, the seeds will embark on their journey of transformation, germinating into vibrant saplings. Over the next 15 days, the students will keenly observe this metamorphosis, learning firsthand about the miracle of growth.

This initiative exemplifies the students' dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable living. Once the saplings are ready, they will find their permanent home within the school premises, contributing to the greening of the campus and serving as a living testament to the power of collective action for a greener future.

In a vibrant display of creativity and patriotism, students from classes V to VII at The Dwarka School engaged in a remarkable initiative. They meticulously crafted colorful Rakhis using wool, adorning them with intricate embellishments like beads, stones, and lace. To infuse the spirit of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the 75th anniversary of India's independence, the students adorned each Rakhi with cutouts of the school logo, the tricolor flag, or the symbol "75".

Under the guidance of their dedicated teachers, this endeavor was undertaken as part of the Scouts and Guides curriculum. A total of 150 unique Rakhis were thoughtfully fashioned by the students. These Rakhis hold a special purpose - they are destined for the courageous soldiers stationed at our country's frontiers. These will be sent so as to reach the soldiers by 21 August, well before the festival.

This gesture of gratitude not only signifies the students' respect for the soldier’s dedication, but also aims to bring a touch of celebration to their lives during this festival, despite being far from their families and loved ones. This initiative stands as a heart-warming reminder of the unity and gratitude that bind our nation.

Agriculture Tools

This year, The Dwarka School embarked on a comprehensive theme of Agriculture for its whole school project. Class VI students delved into the realm of Indian agriculture, focusing specifically on the diverse tools and implements used in this vital sector. Through dedicated efforts, they meticulously researched, compiled, and showcased their findings about land movers, bush cutters, earth auger, pickaxe, sickle, hoe and many more.

The students ardently created informative charts and engaging worksheets, showcasing their in-depth knowledge about various agricultural implements. They also had a few models on display. Their exploration extended beyond mere names; they also delved into the practical aspects, elucidating the specific uses, appropriate storage methods, and essential maintenance practices for each tool.

The culmination of their hard work was an enlightening display and presentation, where they eagerly shared their insights with fellow students from different grades. The powerpoint presentation further encapsulated their discoveries, leaving a lasting impact on the audience. The articulate explanations and intricate details impressed all those who attended, earning the students well-deserved applause.

The class VI students have not only demonstrated their commitment to learning but also illuminated the significance of agriculture and its tools in our lives. This project stands as a testament to their dedication and the school's pursuit of holistic education.

Marathi Transcription 

On 2nd August 2023, a Marathi transcription activity was conducted at The Dwarka School. The students were assigned an age-appropriate passage to write out in 30 minutes. The young learners approached the task with dedication, focusing on the strokes of each letter, resulting in meticulously written and beautiful handwriting. It was heartening to witness their enthusiasm for preserving the art of penmanship.

After careful evaluation, three outstanding transcriptions were selected for recognition in each section. The deserving students were awarded certificates for their exceptional efforts and commitment to the task.

This activity not only promoted language skills but also instilled a sense of pride and accomplishment among the students. Kudos to the participants and the school for organizing such a valuable event.

Best Out Of Waste Activity

On Monday, 24th July 2023, Classes I and II engaged in an exciting "Best Out Of Waste" activity. Each student participated individually, showcasing their creativity.

In Class I, Sections A, B, and C demonstrated remarkable ingenuity. They crafted unique items from waste materials. Among their creations were a camera made from soapboxes and bottle covers, a mini-bus crafted from empty boxes, bottles, and caps, and pencil stands, creatively decorated, from waste bottles.

In Class II, students of sections A, B and C displayed their talent by creating piggy banks from bottles, crafting mobile phones using cardboard boxes, and making adorable penguins out of plastic bottles.

The activity fostered resourcefulness and environmental consciousness among the young learners.

Road Transport

The Foundation Class Teachers' at The Dwarka School organized an engaging activity to educate students about various types of road transport and road safety. They set up a display of toy transports, showcasing different vehicles like two-wheeler, three-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles ranging from cars to heavy trucks.

This hands-on approach allowed students to explore and learn about each type of transport. Along with the display, the teachers emphasized the importance of following safety rules on the roads. They discussed traffic signals, pedestrian crossings, and the significance of wearing helmets and seat belts.

This activity not only imparted knowledge about road transport but also instilled vital safety habits in the young minds of the students.
